Where the "F" is Effingham?

If you don't know where Effingham is, look it up on a map! Its in Illinois. That's where we are tonight. If you are wondering who won the argument on the driving distances, it was Kim, that's why we are in Effingham. She said she wanted more than 4 hours sleep tonight. We are staying in my favorite pet friendly hotel, Motel 6. I give this joint 4 paws up.

Anyway, I woke up bright and early. Kim took me out for a walk and I took a well deserved leak. In case you are keeping track, it had been 24 hours since my last pee. I had such a comfortable sleep in the Elk City Motel 6, everything came out just fine.

The girls got ready, and then Cousin Barbara took on the morning drive (she was slacking yesterday and poor Kim drove over 500 miles).

First we drove Oklahoma which was really boring. And then through Missouri, which was even more boring. We made a quick pitstop for some duct tape to secure the latch on the car carrier. Cousin Barbara and Kim were tired of reaching up through the sun roof to fix it every 10 miles. I supervised from inside.

We stopped for "lunch" at Steak and Shake. Those B's ate their steak burgers, fries and shakes right in front of me, and didn't give me a thing.

The 700 mile ride was mostly uneventful, the girls took pictures of funny signs, I gave some motorcycle drives a piece of my mind (sometimes I wish I had hands so I could flip off these jerks that get too close to my ride).

Kim took over the driving after lunch, and thing were going just fine, until the check engine light went off. She called her dad, and who said, "what do you want me to do about it?" and then told her to pull over and let the car cool down. We stopped at a rest stop for 20 minutes and I gave some guy and his dog the rest of my mind. I'm like, "That's right, poochie, make my day. You are in Brutus' yard now. " You should have seen them run to their car.

We made our last stop for gas in St. Louis and Kim had a religious dilemma. She found Jesus (on the ground) and didn't know what to do with him, Cousin Barbara was going to take him with us, but decided it was better to leave him so he could to watch over the weary travelers at the Circle K.

Mostly, I just napped in the back and wondered when I was going to get something to eat.

We got to our room at the Motel 6 around 8pm. I was happy to get out of that car. I love this place.

Cousin Barbara ran out to Wendy's for burgers. Surprise, surprise, she came back with 2 for me. Woof, Woof. Then Kim took me for a walk and I did a number #2. Yeahhhh Boy.

The girls and I played a little dress up (like my shirt?), and now I am going to sleep.

We have a big day tomorrow, I hear Pennsylvania is our next Motel 6 rest. Just thinking about staying there makes my tail wag.

Smell you later Dogs.

Woof Woof,
Your boy Brutus.

PS- Special Bark out to my favorite girls Kayla and Brianna. See you soon.

  1. I'm glad you got your Wendy's, Brutus. Tell cousin Barb that she can't just blow through these states. She needs to stop at more than the rest stops and take in the sights!
